First, check out PromosPro for a listing of awesome travel sites, like Groupon and Travelzoo for amazing deals, and usually at the last minute. The last few weeks of travel or usually less traveled, so you have a better chance of getting a deal then.
Destination #1: Yellowstone National Park
A true American must-do, best known for Old Faithful. You truly can spend a week here, if you wanted to–there is that much to do and see. There are over 1,000 hiking trails! You don’t have to break the bank once you’re there (although there are certainly ways to do that ,if you check out some tours!). One way to save is to stay a few miles outside the park. We love the Yellowstone National Park Lodges in Montana, just three miles away from the West Entrance. It’s great for a short or extended stay at only $149.
Destination #2: The Poconos
The Poconos are great for family vacations or quiet romantic getaways. Check out the fresh air of the mountains, or the Mount Airy Casino resort. Enjoy waterfalls and more beautiful scenery everywhere you look. For the budget conscious, we like the Paradise Stream Resort starting at $136 per night, which caters to couples. Unplug and enjoy the peace the Poconos has to offer.
Destination #3: Acadia National Park
Breathtaking beauty is the only way to describe Acadia, which is more frequented in the Fall. Book now and do great on a price. There is a little something for everyone at Acadia, from quiet beaches, to hiking cliff lined trails. This is a great trip for active families and couples. Our hotspot is not only close to Acadia and Bar Harbour, but even closer to the LL Bean outlets! Check out the Ramada Ellsworth from $130 per night.
Destination #4: Myrtle Beach
Myrtle Beach is literally awesome for everyone! Whether it’s a girl’s trip, a family trip, or a couples trip, there is plenty to do. Miles of white sand is highlighted by a hopping Boardwalk. Get your taffy during the day and your party on at night. Southern hospitality is not lost in this bustling beach town. Enjoy traditional southern cuisine, or a quaint bed and breakfast off the beaten path. If you’re looking to go on the cheap, check out the newly renovated Landmark Resort for about $175 per night.
Destination #5: Morro Bay California
Morro Bay is not only where Finding Dory took place. It’s the most underrated of this list, in our opinion. home of literally the world’s largest ocean, Morro Bay is also home to the worldfamous Morro Rock, an historic landmark. There is surfing, climbing, volcano exploring, fishing, hiking, camping, and more. Check out a nature and wildlife tour if you need a break from the beach! There’s so much to do, you won’t spend much time in your hotel! The price is right at the Days Inn for $148 per night!
