No matter what age you are, games are always so much fun. Of course, as an adult, you won’t be playing the same games necessarily that a child would play, but it’s good to know what’s popular out there. Whether you’re having game night with family, you’re looking to buy a present for your niece’s birthday, or you want to change up dinner night with your friends each week by adding a fun card game, the options are endless.
However, finding the best games to play can be hard when there are so many to choose from. And, finding great deals on those toys and games isn’t always “fun and games.” Unless, of course, know where to shop.
Apples to Apples
Apples to Apples is a fun game that you can play with groups of any age. There’s one judge and as many players as you want, and everyone competes to make the funniest combinations of cards. This is a really popular game, and it comes in different themes, too. Get yours at Wal-Mart.
Cards Against Humanity
This is like Apples to Apples, but the adult version. Need we say no more.
This game has become a hit on social media, and though it might be for kids, it’s certainly better when the adults join in. You fill up the little machine with whipped cream, spin the spinner, turn the dial as many times as your spinner indicates, and pray the pie doesn’t smack you in the face. It’s like that game, “Don’t Wake Daddy” but you can taste the suspense! Find it at Toys R’ Us!
Scrabble has always been an exciting game, but Bananagrams is basically the portable version. In a little banana shaped pouch comes tiles with letters, and each player is given tiles to make their own word grid. They make words with their tiles and can also rearrange the letters in their grid to make new words. In order to win, the player must exhaust all his or her tiles into a word grid faster than his or her opponents. It’s one of the best travel games out there, and again, great for all ages. Get it off of Amazon and save money on shipping!
Do you host dinner parties? Have the same friends (or new ones) come over each week and need to fill some of the time before the food comes out on the table? Then Table Topics is a great choice. Each card has questions on it that require personal and in-depth answers from the players, so it’s a fun way to get to know each other better.
This rapid card game requires a lot of quick-thinking and picture recognition skills that allow each player to make a “set.” Each set is three cards and must follow the rules of what’s defined as a “set.” The player who has the most sets at the end of the game, wins. Believe it or not, kids actually do better in this game than adults, so it’s an even challenge for everyone. Get yours at Barnes and Noble!
Games and toys are fun for every age. If you know what to buy and where to buy it, you’ll be ready to win without losing your money.
