Check out a ski resort, even if you don’t ski. There is plenty to enjoy at a mid level or upscale ski chalet. First, enjoy the snowy scenery, a glass of red wine, and a roaring fire. There is no better way to relax. The smells of winter, fire, and wine are intoxicating. You should also find a spa affiliated with the ski resort–this is just another option to get your relaxation on. And you know what? If you’re up to it, take a lesson anyway, even if you’ve never skiied. Rent all your gear and feel exihilarated afterward! Lake Placid a great option for the Northeast. It’s beautiful and there is plenty to do in town if you don’t ski. Many resorts also offer snow tubing, horse drawn sleigh rides, ice skating, and more!
Win some money! If you’re lucky enough to live near a casino, get there! Spend a snowy day inside next the slot machines, hoarding free cocktails, or checking out a show. You don’t even have to gamble to enjoy a great casino. Check out great shopping and dining all in one spot and and give yourself a day of leisure.
Hit up a small town bed and breakfast with the intention of doing nothing but staying in bed! Bring the family for some fresh scenery, or spend one night away with your partner. You don’t have to “do” anything except enjoy your company and sip on some wine. Take a walk and take in the quaintness of a great small town you’ve never before appreciated.
Go to a beach resort. First of all, it will be cheap and quiet. Second, who doesn’t love an ocean view veiled by frost? It’s beautiful enough to want to take a bundled up stroll. You can still enjoy great scenery and get out town, even though it’s frosty! Take advantage of indoor pools and hot tubs.
Find a massive outlet mall. And why not? The hotel accomodations will affordable and you can spend a weekend bargain shopping with the family. It’s the perfect time to hit up serious winter sales.
