How To Make Your Own Detox for 5 Days

Let’s get our DETOX ON!

So I recently started a detox regimen lasting 5 days. It sounds like forever and almost impossible to accomplish, but ladies and gentlemen, IT’S DOABLE!

So WHAT Detox is this? Well, it all depends on you. I was lucky enough to find this very advanced product called VCleanse. Unfortunately, this product is not yet available in the US; however, that DOES NOT MEAN we can’t replicate it.

What exactly is the point of detoxing? For most of us, it’s more about losing weight than about detoxing, yet the word detoxing has nothing to do with losing weight, not really. Detoxing is about cleansing, or detoxifying, your system from harmful and unwanted impurities that it definitely does not need.

When we start to think about weight loss, we stop the real process of cleansing our bodies from toxins, and in a very effective way.

So the first step to take before detoxing isà STOP THINKING ABOUT LOSING WEIGHT! (Therefore, the placebo effect regarding your expectations highly impacts how your body reacts, believe it or not.)

SECONDLY, mentally prepare yourself for the progression your body will face when you put it under extreme conditions, keep in mind it is necessary to purify your entire bodily composition from the inside out, eliminating yourself from  free radicals. What are these you rightfully wonder? They are deteriorating and extremely harmful substances to which everyone is exposed. To learn more, click the hyperlink from Rice University to garner more information about the regressive impacts of free radicals.

THIRDLY, not all juices taste good, but that doesn’t mean they are not good for you.

FOURTHLY and MOST IMPORTANT: THIS IS COMPLETELY PERSONAL and I do not recommend doing this unless you check with your doctor.  In no way do I promote this as 100% approved by any medical expert. I can only say it works, based on my personal and only experience.

So how can we meet half way to accomplish our dual goals?

  1. Make the effort
  2. Know it will take time to prepare
  3. Stay mentally strong
  4. Surround yourself with a support system
  5. Create a tangible, visible goal that you look at every morning to remind yourself of its worthiness.(E.g. I printed a Victoria Secret model pic. The curvy type; I like my curves! And taped it to my bathroom mirror!)
  6. Empty non-PET plastic bottles of  about 16oz and a Juicer machine.

Whoo! I’m typing all this and I’m already tired, but I know it’s worth the time. It was very hard after the second day; I had a bad headache, dizziness, and even a stomachache, but by the third day, WOW, I felt extremely light and alive!! My energy level was to the max; I was in a great mood and felt more focused, centered.
By the 4th day, it was all downhill from there, I was feeling stronger than ever.

In order to do it properly and do it well, you must drink 6 juices per day (women) 8 Juices per day (men) and at least 7 glasses of water. If you fail to hydrate, your headaches will be strong and you will feel very tired. You are allowed to work out, and if you feel like you need to chew on something, you can refer to the Vcleanse.com website to get some tips on what you can eat.

So when to drink?

I suggest you start on a Saturday. Yes, it will be tough because everyone is out and about, but it is better to hit your hardest day on a Sunday when you can sleep, versus on Monday when you are trying to work.

What time to drink it?

Anytime you feel hungry, just make sure you drink all 6 bottles and drink at least all 7 glasses of water.
TIP: DO NOT chug down the juices, taking medium sips through the hour is better. You body and your brain need the oral fixation to keep you from craving. Chugging the juice will only make you feel full for a VERY short period of time.

According to the VCleanse website, this is what happens to your body when you drink a combination of the juices.

Nutrient Green:
This is one of our most nutrient dense juice blends. Dark leafy greens like spinach and romaine are super rich in chlorophyll, antioxidants, potassium and iron; apples add natural sweetness and powerful liver cleansing properties. The warming properties of ginger aid digestion and metabolism.

Light Green:
This light and sweet juice is packed with the digestion promoting enzyme bromelain, which may also reduce inflammation and alleviate sinusitis. Cucumber is the hero of this bottle, providing hydration as well as high levels of sterols (may be helpful in lowering cholesterol), potassium and magnesium (helpful in regulating blood pressure), silica and sulfur (promoting joint, hair and skin health).

Red Love:
With fruity overtones, Fragrant Red combines the powerful detoxifying properties of beets with the antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties of pineapple, and the diuretic, hydrating and skin healing properties of cucumber.

Ginger/Pear Tea:
Refreshing and mucus cleansing lemons are high in vitamin C. Ginger supports digestion, lowers inflammation, improves circulation and boosts metabolism. Apples add a dose of polyphenols that can regulate blood sugar levels and may be beneficial for cardiovascular health.

Choco Fun:
Is a smooth and creamy blend of pure energy and protein. Cashews are packed with vitamins like copper, manganese and B vitamin complex essential for body’s metabolic activity and properly functioning nervous system, also can help maintain healthy eyes and can prevent cataracts. Raw cacao is a potent antioxidant.

Chia Green:
The Chia Green combines iron-rich spinach with hydrating cucumber and protein-packed chia seeds. Rich in immune-boosting chlorophyll, flavonoids, lutein and many other antioxidants. Chia seeds are powerful sources of protein and omega-3 fatty acids. The soluble fiber and gel coating of chia seeds hydrate the colon to ensure the easy movement of food.
