Whether you’ve been with your significant other for a while or just a few months, you never have to stop making a good impression on his or her family. It’s likely you’ve already gotten over the hard part of meeting them, but that doesn’t make the rest of it any easier. If it’s time for you to get members of your significant other’s family gifts, no matter if it’s a birthday, a thank-you, or just for the heck of it, you want to make sure you’re prepared. The problem is, figuring out which gift to get can be a just a little bit difficult.
We can point you in the right direction.
You really can never go wrong with tea when it comes to the “in-laws.” (Unless, of course, they aren’t big tea fans.) Teavana has tons of tasty options to choose come, and each item comes in something gorgeous that can be displayed in the house. They also have gift-package options if you’re really not sure about what to get!
Google Home (or Other Electronics)
If there’s one thing that people want (especially older people) but they’ll never really feel the need to buy for themselves, it’s new-age electronics. The kind that makes everything in the house fun and convenient, but at the same time, seems a little bit over the top. Well, you can totally make your significant other’s family day by getting them a Google Home or some other cool electronics from Best Buy. Just make sure they’d use them, and bonus points if you walk them through the set-up!
Who doesn’t love a good food basket? Everyone eats, and no matter what they like to eat, there’s some kind of food basket out there for everyone. Whether you make it yourself or order from a company who specializes in this kind of thing, you really can’t go wrong. Choose from a cheese basket (with wine, of course), an Edible Arrangement, a nut basket, etc.
Does your significant other’s family appreciate a good book? Then get them the best-seller you can’t stop telling them about, a nice coffee table book they can leave out for guests, or something unique and rare for their library.
Gift Cards to Dinner
Going out to a nice meal can be expensive, and people don’t get to do it too often. And, when your significant other’s parents pick up the tab almost every time, it’s time they deserve a good dinner. If you live far away, get them a gift-card, but if you live close-by, offer to take them out.
You’re going to have to use your discretion on this one, but you should be able to figure it out. Depending on how long you’ve been together, it could be nice to get your “in-laws” a nicely framed photo of you and their son/daughter. But, if that feels too much, then take one of their travel pictures and turn it into something cool they can hang on their wall.
Don’t let gift-shopping be nerve-wracking. Just get one of these and you’re good to go!
